About Mary Ellen Menken, PhD

I am a clinical psychologist with over 30 years of experience as a therapist in a wide range of settings, including private practice, outpatient clinics, hospitals, and medical practices. I have lived and worked in both the Boston and Chicago areas, where I have been able to enjoy my favorite outdoor activities, including hiking and kayaking. My work since moving to the greater Boston area included serving as a psychologist at Boston Medical Center for many years. I have also served for a number of years as a supervisor and mentor for other psychologists as well as clinical social workers. The breadth of my experience has allowed me to develop the expertise needed to help with a wide range of problems you may be experiencing, whether it’s troubles with anxiety or depression, getting through difficulties or losses in life, health concerns, or challenges in your relationships.

I greatly enjoy helping people tap into and develop what’s best in them to improve their lives, including especially strengths they may not have recognized in themselves. I often hear from clients that they are surprised what they learn about themselves in sessions, and that they feel very comfortable talking with me about even the most difficult topics. I would love to partner with you to help you make meaningful changes in life, and break out of patterns that haven’t been working for you.
